By Metro
With fast service, frequent routes, and affordable fares, the Athens Metro is a convenient way to reach the city center. The airport station is located at the Departures Level, where tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices. A one-way ticket costs €10 (€5 for students and seniors), while a return ticket costs €18. The trip to Syntagma Square takes approximately 40 minutes. Line 3 operates every 30 minutes from 06:30 am to 11:30 pm.

For maximum convenience, taxis are an excellent option for reaching Athens city center. Yellow airport taxis can be found outside Exit 3 of the Arrivals Level and offer door-to-door service in comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles with plenty of luggage space. The fixed fare is €45 during the day and €58 at night, with an average journey time of 35–40 minutes.
